Do You Hear the Silence Sing

I don’t know why I love the silence so

like touching the space between your fingers

it calms me.

 

Like the space between notes in a song

it strings together a melody

that carries me beyond.

 

If you listen to the silence so hard

you realize it is never very quiet at all.

It’s just another word for ‘still’

and ‘seeing’

and ‘open’

and ‘God.’
